January 11th, 2009

On this date(1-11-09) my daddy was working security at the ER and after being there for about an hour he started having this cold feeling in his chest. He said it was just like a strange cold sensation. So he asked one of the nurses to check his blood pressure. She did and it was fine, but she said he just did not look right so she wanted to run a few more test. They did some test of his heart rate but that came back fine also. They gave him a nitroglycerin, that did nothing, they took blood around that time and sent it to the lab. Then gave him another nitroglycerin, that is when everything bottomed out he started hurting all over, his blood pressure dropped and no telling what else. So around that time they called momma and told her she needed to get t the hospital because daddy was having a heart attach. So momma and I rush to the hospital and I get in touch with my brother. When we get there they are loading daddy up sending him to another hospital. They said he had at least one blockage that needed to be taken care of. When we got to the other hospital they rushed him into surgery and found out he had three blockages. Two in the front of his heart and one in the back. One blockage was 99% to100% (said it was going back and forth because of the meds he was given) the other blockage was 90%-95%. He said it was bad. He said he had to hurry because if they lost that artery they would lose daddy. We were all praying and dealing with it best we could. It was just so unexpected. They call that particular artery blockage the widow maker( meaning usually the person does not make it) So off the Dr goes to put the stints in. He was not gone long at all when we heard him in the hallway. My brother was sitting where he could see the Dr and all my brother would do was drop his head and shake his head. I do not think any of us was breathing at that moment. The Dr finally walked around the corner and said "Everything went good" At that moment you could hear each of us let out a sigh of relief. They put two stints in and said they would worry about the third one at a later time. He also said while in there he found a dangling blood clot but he took that out. Daddy went to CICU for about a day and a half then was in a step down room for about a day and a half. He is a miracle. He did so good after they got the stints in. It took him a while to believe he had a heart attack he had to hear the Dr say it before he would believe it. He thought he would be home the next day and back to work before the weeks end. When we told him no he would be out of work about a month because of the heart attack he was like "NO, NO That is not right, I am fine." But once he realized how bad it really was he calmed down and knew he needed some rest. He is very tired and will drift off to sleep a lot, but that is what he needs, rest. We are so thankful to God and everyone that keep sending the prayers up. I truly feel that is what got us through. Many people do not get to experience miracles but my family have experienced Two in Two years. My mom and now my dad. God has his hands on us and I am so thankful for that. I do not know what I would do if my parents were not here for me and with me.
Until next time!
