New School Year! ~K5~

My baby is growing up so fast! She started K5 this year! I am so proud of her, no crying at school this year. Last year she cried every day for about a month. Well this year I started talking with her about a month or so before school started, I was telling her she was going to be in K5 and she was the "big kid" this year on the playground. She was not having it, she said she did not want to go back to school, she said she went last year and that was enough for her. So about 2 weeks before school started we got in invitation from the school for a Meet and Greet. I told her about it and she said she was not going!! I told her that we had to go, I told her, her teacher wanted to meet her. She started crying and said she did not want to go. So meet and greet day came and on the way she said to me with big tears in her eyes "I am not going to cry this year momma." and I said "that is good baby, but if you need to cry some it will be ok" so when we got to the school she did really well, no tears and she even talked to her teacher. So we went for orientation the Sunday before school started on Monday Aug. 18. We got to the school for orientation and she was a big girl. Sitting there listening to what they had to say and taking it all in. She told me when we got home that evening that she did not want to play on the playground and I told her she did not have to do anything she did not want to do. So she asked me if I would write her teacher a note asking if she could sit with her during recess. I wrote the note and told the teacher McKenzie was a little upset about the playground and if they did not mind if she could sit with them until she got the feel of things on the playground. Well Aug 18th rolled around and it was time to be off to school. On the way to school that morning she said Momma I am not going to cry. I am going to be a big girl. So we pulled up at the school and I told her I loved her and would see her soon. I worried about her all day wondering how things were going for her. So when school let out her teacher put her in the car and said she had a wonderful day and she played on the playground. Yeah for McKenzie!! I am so proud of her. She has started this year off so well. She did have to walk the fence one day for talking to her friend, but you know it is hard to sit all day and not talk to your friends. LOL So far so good with school!! She has been in school for a week now and doing good!!! Here are a few pictures from her first full day at school.
