Fabulous Friday

WOOOHOOO!! Its Friday!! I love Fridays. Want to know why!! ~One~ it is the start of the weekend and ~Two~ it is a short day at school for McKenzie!!
There was a home game at McKenzie's school this Friday so they got to go to a Pep Rally!! McKenzie likes going to the pep rally's but she said they are so loud!! She does not like loudness at all so she said she covered her ears. Bless her heart.
She had one of her friends to come over after school today also. She and her friend Ellen have not had a play date in a while so we brought Ellen home with us after school for a couple of hours. They had a blast!!
This is a long weekend for McKenzie No School on Monday!!! YEAH!!! She loves no school days and I do too!! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and Labor Day on Monday
Here is a picture of McKenzie before school today!!!

Brother and Sister-in-law

My family has been praying very hard the past 2 weeks. Reason: my brother. So here is the story. He was a police officer for several years and back in 1998 there were some problems (life problems that we all go through at one point or another) so he resigned from the police force. He moved from our small town into a larger town and found a new life. But every since then his regret was leaving the police force. So he put his application in at the local sheriff's office and we are hoping and praying he will get the job!! He and his wife are moving back to the small town he left so many years ago. We are all excited and nervous and just want the answer!! Will they hire him or not??!! Praying and praying that everything will fall into place. Keeping our fingers crossed until we hear something.
Love you much big brother!!

Dentist
I took McKenzie to the dentist today because her baby tooth is not loose but her "big girl" tooth has already broke through the skin. So I thought maybe they would want to pull it or something but he said not to worry about it. He said her baby tooth would eventually come out. So she has her baby tooth and right behind there is her "big girl" tooth. He said just to keep an eye on it.
She has already lost one of her baby teeth. She turned 5 March 24 and a few days later she lost her first baby tooth. Every since then she HATES the dentist. If you say something about going to the dentist she will start crying and say she does not want to go. I told her that it was a good thing to loose teeth that shows she is getting to be a BIG GIRL and if you put the tooth under your pillow the tooth fairy will come and give you money. She still does not like to talk about it.
Here are a couple of pictures from when she lost her first tooth.

40 Years and Counting!

I am so proud of my parents! Not many people can say their parents have been married 40 years, but I can! August 24, 1968 my mom and dad said "I DO" and they are still going strong! We celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Sat. August 23rd. We went to John Paul's for dinner. Robbie, McKenzie, Momma, Daddy and I met Scott and Missi for dinner and had a very good time. The Wednesday before their anniversary I put their wedding picture in the paper with a little poem about their marriage. It was so funny because Momma and Daddy did not know I was going to put that in the paper. Momma had a Dr appt so I was looking at the paper and I said to her, "Momma look, Preston and his wife have been married for 22 years" and she was looking over at the paper and said "You know I was thinking about giving you a picture of Daddy and me to put in the ...." and about that time she saw the picture I had put in there. She grabbed the paper and read the poem. Big tears came up in her eyes and she said "Thank you so much for this." They have had their ups and down but have stayed together through it all. HAPPY 40TH ANNIVERSARY MOMMA AND DADDY! I LOVE YOU MORE THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW!
They started out as two
Soon became three
Seven years later I came along and we became a family of four
Now we are a family of eight, seven in this picture. Christopher could not be here with us because he has enlisted in the navy.

New School Year! ~K5~
My baby is growing up so fast! She started K5 this year! I am so proud of her, no crying at school this year. Last year she cried every day for about a month. Well this year I started talking with her about a month or so before school started, I was telling her she was going to be in K5 and she was the "big kid" this year on the playground. She was not having it, she said she did not want to go back to school, she said she went last year and that was enough for her. So about 2 weeks before school started we got in invitation from the school for a Meet and Greet. I told her about it and she said she was not going!! I told her that we had to go, I told her, her teacher wanted to meet her. She started crying and said she did not want to go. So meet and greet day came and on the way she said to me with big tears in her eyes "I am not going to cry this year momma." and I said "that is good baby, but if you need to cry some it will be ok" so when we got to the school she did really well, no tears and she even talked to her teacher. So we went for orientation the Sunday before school started on Monday Aug. 18. We got to the school for orientation and she was a big girl. Sitting there listening to what they had to say and taking it all in. She told me when we got home that evening that she did not want to play on the playground and I told her she did not have to do anything she did not want to do. So she asked me if I would write her teacher a note asking if she could sit with her during recess. I wrote the note and told the teacher McKenzie was a little upset about the playground and if they did not mind if she could sit with them until she got the feel of things on the playground. Well Aug 18th rolled around and it was time to be off to school. On the way to school that morning she said Momma I am not going to cry. I am going to be a big girl. So we pulled up at the school and I told her I loved her and would see her soon. I worried about her all day wondering how things were going for her. So when school let out her teacher put her in the car and said she had a wonderful day and she played on the playground. Yeah for McKenzie!! I am so proud of her. She has started this year off so well. She did have to walk the fence one day for talking to her friend, but you know it is hard to sit all day and not talk to your friends. LOL So far so good with school!! She has been in school for a week now and doing good!!! Here are a few pictures from her first full day at school.
